The Houses of Batsuzoku

The Houses of Batsuzoku no Dragon are symbols of both the group's diversity and it's unity. Each House follows their own unique form of Bushido, has it's own interests and past-times as well as it's own set of rules in addition to those set forth by the whole of BnD. They offer each member who joins an opportunity to find their niche within the group to allow them to pursue things that interest them. How the Houses work is as a collective council for the executive decisions in the group. Each House Lord/Lady heads their house, deciding how the house is run, what will be their interests and their focus, their Do ("way"), and anything to do with their House in every way. Of course they must operate within the rules set forth by the group. Each House Lord/Lady has a position on the council of BnD and is involved in the decision making process for the future of our group.

By providing the option to new members of choosing their preferred house, this allows the group to benefit the most from each member's talents and motivation. It also allows for the most growth for the members themselves. Following are basic explanations of each House of Batsuzoku. As the site is nearing completion we will post more in-depth information on them.

Ookami House

The Ookami House is where you will find those who seek a higher path in both life and within BnD. To be a member of Ookami House is to seek glory and honor for yourself and the Clan as a whole. This House however, is only temporarily available if you are unable to choose a house that fits you once you have become a full fledged member. If your talents and interests seem to best fit this house, you may be approached by the Ryukage, the House Lord of the Ookami House, about whether you would like to further your stay within his House. If so, then you would be placed within a unique group of individuals in Batsuzoku, the Yamabushi. If you choose that the Ookami House and/or the path of the Yamabushi is not for you, you will be placed in one of the other Houses that best suits you if you are still unable to decide. The only permanent members of the Ookami House ARE the Yamabushi. More about them will be covered in another page of this website.

Kormyou House

Technically the first House of Batsuzoku (founded in September of 2005), the Kormyou House is comprised of those dedicated to the focus of the true nature of Martial Arts and the following of traditional Bushido. Led by the Shogun, they enjoy all aspects of the group, but their true aim is to support Batsuzoku in what it was primarily founded upon: being a community. Over time, the Kormyou House will host various forms of Martial Arts and will provide a variety of ways of self discipline. Also, the Kormyou House is primarily responsible for mediation between members and the safety of those members during events as they are in charge of the Hatamoto department of Batsuzoku.

Within the Kormyou House, the meaning of Kormyou is it's true staple. "Song of the Soul". The Kormyou celebrate the individuality of it's members and encourage them to pursue their potential and interests in life. "To be yourself and only yourself", as long as it does not come into conflict with the guidelines of the House. Keep in mind that your worst enemy is yourself and nothing is impossible as long as you truly feel you are capable.

The Kormyou House Crest:

Comprised of three crescents, the Minor Crescent, Middle Crescent, and Major Crescent. Each of these crescents represents a core ideal of the Kormyou do, expressed through three tiers of importance: World, Kami, and Self. By choosing to join the Kormyou house and to remain a member, you must be committed to these ideals as they are expected of each Kormyou member.

The minor crescent: World
This crescent of the crest symbolizes the symbiosis of yourself with nature, other individuals in society, and paints the "big picture" of life. When dealing with the world, there is one thing that a Kormyou member must always remember: Compassion. By being there for others, you create a structure of trust and kindness that will last as long as you are consistent.

Dojima House

The members within Dojima House are expected to posses a level of integrity and a sense of duty to Batsuzoku no Dragon. Members of this house will be taught the ideals of loyalty, service, duty, respect, and honor as those attributes are not only residing in the history of the Samurai of old but are frequently expected in today's society and intensely within this house. Encouraging members to be dedicated and to be the best they can be, the Dojima wear the mantle of the work horses of BnD with pride.

The past-times of the Dojima include the study of history, archaeology, battle tactics, and the practice of military training drills. However, the traditions of steel crafting and marksmanship, both Archery and Riflery are the focus of the house. If a member is looking for a challenge, the Dojima is the house for them.

Tekken House

The Tekken House is a celebration of the human spirit. We stress the principles of ferocity and elegance. To be fierce is to be extreme. Those of Tekken House have wield ferocity in all that they do. Elegance is simplicity and effectiveness. Why make things over complicated when the simple, yet well thought path is often the most effective. The Tekken House welcomes art in many fashions, as humankind would not be itself without expression. A member of Tekken House is an impressive warrior with in a true artist. Those interested in the ways of Ninjutsu and the Kunoichi are welcome to this House. It is our great pride to carry the study these ways as some of the Houses before us have.

THE MEANING OF TEKKEN: Tekken is the Japanese word for Iron Fist. In the simplicity and silence of an iron fist we maintain, however when we choose to strike we do so with impressive force. I chose the name Tekken for the meaning is simple and not easily misunderstood.

THE CREST: The crest of Tekken is the the Kanji of fire with in a circle held the paw of a wolf. Fire is the truest symbol of the human spirit; simple and full of beauty, yet undeniably potent. The wolf is a symbol of our virtues. The virtues of the wolf, we hold dear to us as the warriors we include, but are certainly not limited to, the unwavering morals, the wisdom to know when to strike and how, and the ability to do what must be done at all costs. The colors of my crest are Red, black and Blue. Red representing the ferocity we apply to all the tasks of our daily lives. Black is for the unity of our house and our ability to vanish before the naked eye. Blue is the elegance of the house and the principles of water, which is known by the Japanese to flow around its obstacles and act in the most versatile way.

THE TRADITIONS:

hand to hand fighting in the most primitive styles such as American boxing. We beleive the best we to fight is to get punched in the face till we learn to move. We also study wrestling, the type you find in someones yard. Don't get us wrong, we respect formal styles, but it's in our nature to be rough.

the arts of stealth and deception practiced in ninjitsu ways. The ancient ways of the ninja are deeply respected. Many members of Tekken house study the ways of ninjutsu and because of the respect for the Ninja way Tekken House will take on many of those who wish to be Ninja.

throwing weapons such as knives and kunai. It is useful, not only in combat, but in many situations to know how to throw a sharp object with skill. Tekken House studies the methods of throwing various weapons and their many purposes in and out of combat.

TEKKEN RALLY: A Tekken rally is the festival of the archaic. There will be competitions of skill and raw ability, such as boxing. For those who wish to participate in these activities, there will also be demonstrations of paintings and sketches, as well as other forms of art. This is the time for one's true inner spirit to thrive.
